Fediverse – Getting started

Step 1. Pick a server It is probably the hardest part, so I will help you with that step. Here are a few I like: If you want more like Facebook/ Twitter aus.social, mastodon.au or if you want to original mastodon.social is a good option If you are more Instagram/Youtube/TikTok – try pixelfed.au, pixelfed.social or Loops.video

The hardest part is picking a server – so I advise to just throw a dart – it is not super important as I explained, the system works like email – once you know someones email address, you can follow them on any server. Just go with how you feel.

Your username / address will have the server name in it – like my username is @craiglambie42@fosstodon.org as my server is fosstodon.org – all about FOSS – Free Open Source Software – which felt right to me when I first registered.

Step 2 Start following accounts – here are 5 I like

  1. @anewsocial@mastodon.social
  2. @caseynewton@mastodon.social
  3. @Gina@fosstodon.org
  4. @leavex@gram.social
  5. @FediFollows@social.growyourown.services

Over the last 6 years I have managed to find the love of my life and create a family, create a successful business and know when to quit (maybe a bit late) and moved into a lifestyle of investing. Currently working on a passive income to replace my previous income, we are about 50% of the way towards it) I am passionate about helping guys become more fullfilled in their life by addressing micro problems one at a time in the sphere of Health, Wealth and Wisdom.
